Not Madness, A Policy
Sharon believes in a greater Israel, and the only way to accomplish this objective is through an all out war.

Neve Gordon
5 Mar. 2002
'We must first strike the Palestinians a heavy blow, before we can begin negotiating peace,' Prime Minister Sharon said on March 4th, only a few hours after Israeli security forces killed 17 Palestinians, 5 of them children. One of the adult fatalities was a 55-year-old woman from Jenin; another was Dr. Sliman Khalil, who was slain while evacuating the injured from a nearby refugee camp.

The evening before these recent killings, I went to a peace rally to protest the Israeli military infiltration into two refugee camps, where an additional 24 Palestinians had been shot dead. As I was walking from my car towards the Prime Minister's house, the sound of a loud explosion reverberated through the Jerusalem night.

The ensuing echo of ambulance sirens left little doubt in my mind about what had happened. An hour later, while standing with a peace sign in hand, my mother called the cell phone to check whether I was all right; she told me that a suicide bomber had exploded himself outside a synagogue, killing ten guests who had been celebrating a Bar-Mitzvah.

There is no longer any room for doubt: violence begets violence. And it is within this macabre context that one must interpret Sharon's decision to employ more force.

Sharon, to be sure, is not mad. Yet, he realizes that in the past few days 31 Jews and 52 Palestinians have been killed, joining the over one thousand people -- many of them children -- who have died since the second Intifada erupted in September 2000. At this juncture, then, there are only a few ways to make sense of Sharon's sanguine logic.

Sharon's declaration, which has been rapidly translated into policy, will surely guarantee one thing -- more blood will be spilled. But why, one might ask, does he want to escalate the violence?

The answer is straightforward. Sharon believes in a greater Israel, and the only way to accomplish this objective is through an all out war. For if enough Jewish blood is shed, Sharon might in fact gain the legitimacy needed to embark on such a campaign.

1948 appears to be Sharon's historical reference point. During that war, the fledgling Israeli government decided to ensure a Jewish majority within what would become Israel. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians either fled or were evicted by force from their homes, thus creating the Palestinian refugee problem. The Palestinians accordingly refer to Israel's War of Independence as Nakbah, or 'the catastrophe.'

Currently, there are about 200,000 Jewish settlers living on occupied land amongst three million Palestinians. One solution to the crisis would be to dismantle all the Jewish settlements, bring the settlers back home, and establish a Palestinian state within the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, with East Jerusalem as its capital. This solution, however, is antithetical to Sharon's expansionist aspirations. It is thus becoming more and more apparent that Sharon is actually interested in creating a situation whereby he can expel hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their land. In order to do so, he needs a war.

Re: Lynnette reminds us that the JewZies of Israel's Zionist 1st Reich are not good people.

Yes, Yes, Lynette there is no Santa Claus, but rest assured that the devil does exist and that he continues to motivate his Zionist relatives in Israel.

As DIM BULB's 'war on terrorism' continues, live and in living color from the Oval office, we begin to see the picture of this NEW WORLD ORDER the Whitehouse has in mind. A world where Zionist thuggary lives free of fear from retribution from its victims.'

Not a nuclear free zone in the Middle East with sanctions being placed ( as required by US law, right India? Right Pakistan? ) on the NUCLEAR ARMED Zionist thugs, but a zone where America disarms the Arabs and finances and promotes Israeli STATE SPONSORED TERRORISM with the US taxpayers Social Security and Medicade reserves.

As the US continues on it's PEACE INITATIVE farce in the Middle East the world continues to condemn our continued financial and political support of the Jewish pariah's but, as expected, it falls from the the US' back like water off a ducks back.

In Europe, the attacks on Jews and Synogogue's is unprecedented. In France they are up 1500%, in England 1000% and rising, and in Germany the government attempts to water down the statistics lest the Zionist reparation 'addicts' hit them up for more cash reparations or perhaps more free gratis diesal powered submarines with which to terrorize world shipping lanes in the Mediterrainean and elsewhere with more Israeli piracy as we saw in February.

Nowhere on the horizon is there a vision of the pulling of US military support from the Zionist thugs for their violation of 'every' signed US/Israeli agreement regarding the use of US supplied weaponry and their use in the murder of unarmed Palestinian civilian's.

The sucker punch the US 800 lb. gorilla received on 09-11 should have been enough to let America know that something has to be done about its racist policies in the Middle East. Apparently, it will take a few more to finally put the US back on track and remind him that the US taxpayer financed Zionist FRANKENSTEIN MONSTER needs to have its plug pulled, poste haste!

God bless the Palestinian's--may their aim be true and their future bright.

'The sucker punch the US 800 lb. gorilla received on 09-11 should have been enough to let America know that something has to be done about its racist policies in the Middle East.'

I don't even think the punch was intented to in any way 'inspire' the U.S. to change policy: could 'Al Queda' be so naive? Rather, the attack was meant to have the effect of making the present policy even more unchallengable, the American leaders even more determined to carry it out( 'One can not bend to the demands of terrorist', 'No negotiation with terrorist'.). It gave them every excuse in (jingoistic, reactionary, paranoid, zenophobic) book to act even more arbitrarily violent then ever before.

'Al queda' probably achieved even more than they hoped they would. Without carrying on any other attack, the whole of the government and press is obsessed with security and the war on terror, and the fact that it is blantantly anti-Islamic, Anti-arab, anti-black and anti-poor keeps leaking out( er, rather, forming into trajectories of vomit spewing freely from the mouths of the so-called 'wise'.)

'Al queda' should be pleased that not only are a larger and larger proportion of the people and nations of the world coming to the realization that the U.S. message of peace and prosperity (New World Order)is a complete bust, but the U.S. itself is set on a course of complete self-destruction, really busy dimantling its traditional civil institutions and wrecking its own economy as well.

The very means of communication ( beginning with the english language) have been subverted.
Once again, puny, confident, self-worshipping Mankind has brought itself to the brink of total destruction.
