'The numbers pouring in from Mexico are larger than any wave from any other country in so short a time. In the 1990's alone folks of Mexican ancestry in the US grew by 50% to 21 million, and that does not include the 6 million HIspanics who refused to tell census takers their country of origin. Mexican Americans are also concentrated in the US Southwest, although the founding fathers wanted immigrants spread out among the population to assure assimilation...
Unlike the immigrants of old, who bade farewell to their native lands when they boarded the ship, for Mexicans, the mother country is right next door. Millions have no desire to learn English or to become citizens. america is not their home; Mexico is; and they wish to remain proud Mexicans. They have come here to work. Rather than assimilate, they create Little Tijuanas in US cities, just as Cubans have created a little Havana in Miami. .. they are becoming a nation within a nation. .. Pat Buchanan, Death of the West

Glenn Garvin in Reason, 'If today Calvin Coolidge declared, 'American must remain American.' he would be charged with a hate crime.'

The melting pot is becoming nothing but a bunch of segregated little nations within its borders. (Barb)

'California is going to be a Mexican state. We are going to control all the institutions. If people don't like it, they should leave.' exults Mario Obledo, president of the League of United Latin american Citizens, and recipient of the Medal of Freedom from President Clinton.' (Death of the West)

Let's say a WHITE MAN DARED SAY THE SAME THING!!!! Political correctness will be the death of this country unless the intimidated majority stand up to it and say NO MORE.

Let me see if I understand your point? We are willing to aid in the deaths and re-location of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Arabs to keep Israel Jewish, but yet we don't make an effort to keep America, American? True, we have been willing to see millions of Arabs re-located to keep Palestine Jewish, but if America fought to keep us Americans, we'd be no better than Hitler who wanted Germany to be German.

Well, since every group is entitled to their nutjob fanatics (Blacks have Nation of Islam, Whites have KKK, Jews Kahane Chai) why should Mexicans be any different?
Check out the kooks at http://www.aztlan.net/

It's the Mexican 'Nation of Islam' with their very own Mexican Farrakhan.

Makes you think that Barb may have a point.

Albeit somewhat tangential to the issue at hand.

Re: Hispanics refuse to assimulate..

Interesting, that the 'original' Palestinian's of this continent, raped, murdered and having had their lands, their water and their dignity stolen by the European interlopers and trespassers, the Mexicans, are now reclaiming their 'stolen' lands little-by-little, hahaha.

Oh well!

Well since Barb brought the Mexican issue up!

America has a Constitution and specific INS laws. Our country is being torn apart by the Liberal-Democrats who have a mission to rewrite the constitution to their socialist views and towards their world-order.

Now, if our government inforces the laws we already have, the Mexicans would not be a problem to this country.

However, if our forefathers warned against such assimilation in order to keep American free for all, then why is it so hard to understand that Israel is so un-American (a nation for Jews only). Does that make any sense. We give them five billion of our tax money, the most advanced weapons (not to mention the nuclear arms they are allowed to horde), and we hold their hand while they abuse the Palestinians. How American is that? What a big hypocrisy!

You really got me with this one Barb.
1. This is not the place to show your racism.
2. Why the hell don't you read about the mexican-american identity (in anthropological terms) that is being created in this country. Many undergrads in this country study this issues in cultural studies.
3. Take a 'tour' to any english language night school of any town where you can find latino population. I think you will feel ashamed of what you are saying when you see people struggling to learn english after a 15 hour day work and after having to deal with racists like you that have all the time of the world to read and become even more racist.
I really feel sorry for your children.

I am simply pointing out what is going on -- these are facts, Raquel, and calling me a 'racist' for bringing up what is going on in the U.S. is just trying to avoid having any meaningful discussion on the issue. Don't feel sorry for my children. They are quite well adjusted, thank you very much. I am not afraid to look at the reality of things and not be intimidated by dangerous thinking and Political Correct behavior. That is far more scary.

Raquel, why didn't you call Maria Obledo a racist? Is it because she is not white? Do you call Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakan racists? Only whites can be racists, right???????? The point of my original message is to point out Political Correctness-- how hypocritical and racist it really is -- racist against white folks. Get it?

What is your problem? Conflicting personalities? When did I say that only whites are racists?
You know what, I am not going to waste any of my time with your stupid postings. All you want is to get attention and, guess what, I am not interested in providing what OTHERS should be providing for you.
Get real and get an appointment with a therapist!

Hey, way to go on not using personal attacks against others.

For the record - Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan are as racist as they come. So are several Mexican leaders in CA. The sooner people start calling a spade a spade the sooner we can address the ills of racism.

This board is full of racism -- every other posting says something about 'Jewish thugs' 'Zionists,' etc. etc. It's such an ignorant one-sided view. Horseblinders, anyone?

Barb - You are right on. My favorite is when folks like Ozzie visit neo-fascist websites and feel compelled to promote conspiracy theories about Jews. They then have the gall to make self-righteous statements about who is a fanatic and who is racist.

In these chaotic and dangerous times the usual hateful characters crawl out from under their rocks to try and inflict as much pain and suffering on all of us.

Peace.

Says Raquel: '1. This is not the place to show your racism.'

HAHAHAHAHA! I am laughing out loud at this one!!!!!!

'Zionist parasites'
'Zionist thugs'

I don't use such ignorant name calling like other posters such as AZ Cowboy and John Calvin. I think other posters are the ones you should accuse of racism, why don't you? Because you agree with their racist views, right? Look in the mirror before you call others racists!
