CNN REPORTER
The official version that we are getting is that this is for the journalists' safety. Also, that if the journalists are around, the Israeli soldiers would be hesitant to shoot, and they want to give them as much room as possible to act freely without having to be restricted by concern that they would be hitting journalists.

However, the journalists have been protesting that this is actually some kind of censorship because it's preventing us from seeing what is happening. We really don't have much information on what's happening there except from phone conversations that we have been doing with eyewitnesses, with residents in the camp who are very scared, who have been appealing to us, to many other journalists, saying, 'You have to come and see what's happening.' They say [there's] a lot of destruction, and there are a lot of people who have been killed

Egyptian- Barb has been 'haunting' this web-site for a long time. Basically her line of argument never changes, she repeats herself endless and loves these little, personal 'tit for Tats' in which she is able to persuade herself she is for 'free speech, democracy, peace and all the good stuff' ( you know: the red, the white and the blue) and we all are for all the bad stuff. She views herself as a real champion for coming into MER and contesting 'the beast' in his own liar.

When thing appear to be going well for The Infinite Justice Crusade-War on Terrorism'
she remains relatively quiet. When things are not going all that well- like now when the whole world is condemning American policy- she gets very active.

The main impact of her activity is to dilute important postings and discussions and send them down to the bottom of the page as rapidly as possible. Her great delight is in posting artiles like that one by Bernard Lewis, knowing perfectly well that he is greatly despised by all serious students of Islam and the middle East and has been condemned repeatedly by our hosts ( MER).

It's hard to refrain from kicking out against her inanities now and then, but usually it is best just to brush her messages off, not bothering to give her the time of day.

Yes, now and then she says something that makes her sound a litle bit in agreement with the view expressed by MER. Kind of like when Bush says Israel ought to withdraw from the occuppied territory but them ,in the next breath, denounces terrorist suicide bombings of innocence people, you know, the ones who support Sharon's policy but go to the mall shopping and get blown up eating pizza-the one's who arn't 'accidentally caught in the crossfire' or collaterally damaged but are actually targeted- and that definately has to stop FIRST before ANY serious negotiations can begin.

This is the 'bread and butter' of her argument- the one that has absolutely prevented any justice whatsoever being provided Paslestinians since 1948. But it sounds so cool and morally right on, doesn't it. I mean, what?, it's good enough for 70-80% to give Bush their support in his Infinite Justice Crusade- no matter how bleeding much it costs them or how many other people in the world learn to hate them.

Yes, even when the head guy at MER has an interview on the radio he has to say,' yes, yes, these suicide bombings are really bad, no excuse for that, be sure that I am also one hundred percent against suicide bombings- now, try to listen to what I say about all the other dimensions to the problem.' You'll notice that's how he has to begin every interview whereas with Barb, that's what all her 'interviews' finally boil down to. Everything else she has to say about the situation justs flies around and around that point, like moons bound by the gravity of their mother planets.

It doesn't make any difference to her that you totally refuted her fantasy postings on the history of Palestine or the demented views of Bernard Lewis, or the zillions of Time Magazine , CNN article's she puts on here, because her main 'planet' still holds. You blow one moon out of orbit, a new one will soon fill its place.

Basically we are talking major mental pathology, in Barb's case.

Well I do have something against 'suicide' my self and 'collateral damage too' I figure you can still be a noble warrior .. true Muslims would 'GET KILLED' defending there honor .. but not kill them selves .. and they can not kill the innocent..
I mean the effect of bombing 50 soldiers is a little less than bombing a disco .. but it is a good deal considering you still keep your faith ( you do not get into the contested territory of right and wrong)and since you are willing to die for your cause .. it is worth it for a nation to loose double the number of martyrs and keep its honor !
But unfortunately .. People are not perfect .. and I HOLD ZIONISM responsible for the state in which the Palestinian nation (that stayed under that oppression) is today.
Fortunately so far .. suicide bombers are still minority within there mist .. But I do fear all of this is changing every minute now.
In my faith … the end does not justify the means.
Muslims are caught in between bin laden and Sharon.. With Wall Street calculating interest!
Wonder if barb knows about the 2.3 trillion dollars missing (Enron style) in the us army budget?
