Finally we have some outrage from the Arab world! Since Sept. 11 we've had nothing more than token grunts of disapproval over the terrorist attacks on the United States. In the meantime the government of Iraq and 'charities' from Saudi Arabia and Quatar, to name a few, make large cash payments to the families of terrorist suicide bombers who target Israeli civilians.
So – why is the Arab world finally outraged? Why are there finally demonstrations in the streets and cries for intervention and revenge?
Because Israel is tired of the suicide bombings and is responding. After years of asking Palestinian Terrorist-in-Chief Yasser Arafat to stop the bombings and arrest those responsible, only to see him make token arrests and then free the bombers days or weeks later, the Israelis are taking matters into their own hands. They are sending troops into Palestinian strongholds to find those responsible and taking them into custody.
That seems to be the final straw to much of the Arab world. They pay tribute to the families of their terrorists, and cry for condemnation of Israel when they respond.
Sure – the situation in the Middle East is complicated. Both sides have points to be made and complaints that deserve a hearing. But there are stark differences between the two – and these differences paint a clear picture of who wears the black hat and who dons the white one.
Israel is clearly prepared to recognize the existence of a Palestinian state. The Palestinians are clearly unprepared to recognize the existence of a Jewish state.
Palestinian terrorists target Israeli civilians. Israel targets those who target their innocent citizens.
Israelis teach their children tolerance of Palestinians. Palestinians teach their children hatred of Jews.
We could go on. Suffice it to say that almost ALL of the concessions in peace discussions over the past few years have been made by Israel. The more Israel appears to be willing to give, the more the Arab world demands.
It's clear that nothing will satisfy Islamic and Palestinian fanatics short of the complete and utter destruction of Israel and the expulsion of all Jews from the region.
Oh … and by the way. The hatred of Israel has much more to do with the fact that they are a bastion of relative freedom and democratic selection of leaders in a region where freedom and democratic principals are greatly feared by those in power. Ditto for The United States.
