To whom it may concern:

This somehow honorably discharged Vietnam veteran, a pacifist and a once-proud American composed the enclosed shortly after the retribution by the terrorists on the East Coast, where I was, somehow, raised AFTER being born there! The title is, ''THE CHICKENS COME HOME TO ROOST.' I hope that you find it suitable for posting!

''PROFESSED PATRIOTISM MAY BE MADE THE COVER FOR A MULTITUDE OF SINS.'-ROBERT WINTHROP, LEGISLATOR AND HISTORIAN, U.S.. CONGRESS, 1864.

THE CHICKENS COME HOME TO ROOST

During the recent tragedy and attack on this country, as far as I'm concerned, we were asking for it and, deservedly got the retribution for the many atrocities and war crimes that this committed over the years! However, the innocent American people who were, senselessly, killed, certainly, didn't deserve to be victims of this latest of the many tragedies that have occurred over the years. We are led to believe that 'foreigners'' perpetrated the dastardly deed, while, in FACT, those who are in power were responsible! It brings to mind the Pearl Harbor attack. This country asked for that tragedy, also, even though it was told (don't believe everything you hear) that Japan was, solely, responsible for the dastardly deed. However, if one searches for the truth, he or she will 'discover' that Amerikkka forced Japan into bombing us, and this gave us the reason that we needed to propel us into WW II, by eliminating supplies for gas and oil, which were a NECESSITY for Japan's economy.

Ever since the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, this once-great country has been on the descent from its status as 'a city on the hill.' I, personally, consider it a shame that we would have to blame someone else for our 'sins' over the years, and in other people's affairs! Ever since the destruction of another country's territory, we have been the instigator in foreign affairs! It's. ALWAYS, for our benefit, too! However, the American people have been duped, time and time again, into believing that the other guy is, always, responsible, when in reality, it's NOT so, for the so-called Christian country of the United States is, SOLELY, to blame for the tragedies that have occurred, recently, e.g., the Oklahoma City bombing, and the Waco disaster, to name just a few. However, the downright LIE by our 'peace' president (read dictator), LBJ, which was used as a pretext for the full engagement into the Vietnam war, a terrorist act in which this pacifist participated, was, unfortunately, just another 'incident' that has occurred over the years! Vietnam's economy and our ecomony were destroyed, not to mention the several million Vietnamese people and the 58,000+ American lives that were wasted in a land war in Asia, was just another act of terrorism that was just as 'upsetting' to this country. The terroristic Vietnam war (which was undeclared), in which I was DRAFTED,
was, indeed, very, very controversial, putting it mildly. Then, there's the Korean War, of which I was NOT a participant (I was too young for that imperialistic adventure), which, also, was against another 'inferior' race or culture (colored, of course), where we had, absolutely NO business, either! But, big brother (the U.S.) attempted to interfere in that country's affairs, also. In FACT, it has been this country's modus operandi since its inception when it interfered in the Native Americans' lives and destroyed their economy, as well. Also, sadly, we learned well, but the average Joe Blow was only told what those in power wanted them to hear, which has been replayed time and time again. Now, the chickens have come home to roost and we asked for it, whether we admit it or not!

Dick Dettrey, a pacifist, an ardent anti-imperialist, and a once-proud American withOUT a country!

Unfortunly all to true, it would appear most would rather grab the bait and run then seek the truth regardless of where it leads.

Dick,
The US has done some dumb things in the past. Every nation has however, we are no different. We look out for our best interests as we should. Our interests, AS ANY NATION, must and should come first in order to survive. To blame us for what happened at Pearl Harbor and Sept. 11 is pure dumb though. Too much pot smoking in the 60's :) perhaps?

What the hell we can't do anything right. We don't all just commit sucide and the rest to the world can be happy and live in peace like they did before 1776. Vietnam was a disaster because we didn't have the balls win. Korea wasn't that bad they got a somewhat free country afterward, and the worlds 8th largest economy.
Of course maybe we should have let that light of truth and honor the Soviet Union, remember them my brother in arms? Take over the world. Just think we could have fun May Day parades, be waiting in Bread lines, and religon? We don't need no stinking religon, Free Speech? Whats up with that comrade?
