Seems to me that the world wants the U.S. to do it's 'dirty work' for them; then they spit on them for doing it, while reaping the rewards. Peace protestors think we can have peace by not doing anything or by diplomatic relations alone. That is naiive at best. At worst, it's extremely dangerous thinking. Mideast countries who have long wanted the Taliban out of Afghanistan should be PAYING the U.S. to do the work we're now doing-- cleaning it out. Next time you're posting your thoughts on a message board such as this, stop a moment to remember the men and women who fought in wars to protect that right. There are many, mostly illiterate 3rd world countries who would love to see the U.S. power smashed. At the same time, you can bet your boots if they had a chance to come here to start a new life they'd be the first in line. Support the U.S. and its military. And if you so vehemently disagree with its policies, I would encourage you to either take a greater part in politics or find another country, perhaps more socialistic, in which to live. To stay and complain is for the weak.

Barb, Thank You, it's nice to see someone of intelligence on this board. It's great to see a free-thinker rather than some one who just quotes other people's words. The so-called intellectuals on this board believe everything they read.

Perhaps you should re-read (read?) the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Sadly, when some start using terms like 'finding another country' or equating complaining with 'weakness' it is a reflection on how little they know about the principles on which this country was founded.

Conversly, others could say, 'if you can't stand the complaining then perhaps it is you who are weak and should seek out a new country'.

Think about it.

Brenda, thanks for the input. I don't know how this forum would survive without the insightful and thought provoking comments you generously provide.

Did i forget to run spellcheck again?

Pond, try looking at it this way: If you chose a college to go to, and most of the people disagreed with everything you said, everything you stood for, and these people were very happy to bicker and decide on things in this manner. Now, let's say there was another college in another city that saw things in a very similar manner as you, with some disagreements, which one would you choose to go to? It's not that 'I can't stand' the complaining; I just think 'complaining' is just that -- complaining.

Barb obviously he'd go to the one that's easier to bomb!

Interesting story a San Diego State student got put on notice because he told off two guys who were celebrating the WTC attack and saying too bad they didn't hit the white house because he hurt their feelings. Maybe it's just their culture to be happy when thousands of people die.

The key phrase you mention is which would you 'choose'. That is different altogether.

You can also choose to get away from the complaining by choosing another country, one where people are not allowed to complain about their government. That is what you want, right, people to stop complaining about the government?

As far as Osamma your Mamma's comments are concerned that is an easy out. Label someone you don't know anything about, because that way you don't have to be bothered to think, read or learn anything. Opinions are like a-holes, everyones got one.

In terms of culture and being happy when people die, do you remember the cheering going on during the Gulf war when we were bombing Iraq?
