By in large Arab Americans supported Bush and the Republicans in the last election. Bush's statements made him seem less blindly pro-Israel than Gore of the Democrats. That still may be true! but clearly it is an unsatisfactory 'improvement'. So Arab Americans are playing the same 'wishful-thinking' card that the PA played for so long- frustrating their people to such an extent that the intifada broke out- it was against Israel and the PA and still is though Arafat has tried to identify himself with it, make it his own.
Generally speaking, unless you are a corporate big-wig with lots of money to contribute to the next campaign, writing letters to the President, Senators or Congresspersons is a big waste of time. They only take the advise of their friends and supporters- people who support what they've done so far! Friends they have known for years.
