Palestinians to Britons, Americans: Go home, go home!
Al-Khalil, May 2, IRNA -- Palestinians throughout the West Bank
and Gaza Strip have reacted with anger and utter dismay at the arrival
of British and American prison wardens to supervise the imprisonment
of six Palestinian nationals for their alleged involvement in
resisting Israeli occupation and apartheid.
'The British are the original sinners, and the Americans are the
real criminals that allow and enable Sharon to carry out his genocidal
war on our people,' said Omar Saleem, a Jericho citizen living not far
from the prison where the six Palestinians are being held.
Most Palestinians blame the United States, Israel's guardian-ally,
and, to a lesser extent, Britain, for Israel's 19-month bloody rampage
against the Palestinian people which culminated in the Jenin massacre.
'Sharon couldn't do what he has been doing without a definitive
American green light. Sharon is only the executive killer, the
promiscuous Bush administration is the real criminal,' said Saleem.
Moreover, a leaflet circulated in the Southern West Bank Wednesday
warned the British and American security personnel against 'staying in
our country.'
'We know you are working for the Mossad (Israel's main
intelligence agency). And you must know that your presence on our land
is unacceptable. Therefore, you must get out, the sooner, the
better.''
The same message was heard Wednesday night in Ramallah where
hundreds of angry Palestinians booed and shouted obscenities at the
Americans and the Britons.
'Go home, go home!' shouted a multitude of Palestinian youths as a
convoy of armored American cars transferred the six Palestinian
activists to Jericho.
On Tuesday, a bomb exploded outside the British Cultural Center in
Gaza, causing some damage but no injuries.
No group took responsibility for the blast, but Gazan sources said
Palestinian activists angered by British support for Sharon may be
responsible.
