First of all- Hi to all at the famous MER house. I have been away for 2.5 days. Did you miss me.....please,please,please, don't rush me all at once.
According to the Israeli refuseniks and their ever growing band of supporters, it is Herr Sharon and his right wing fanatics that are totally f*cking wacked in the head. The way they see it, this uprising is not winable unless you are willing to exterminate the entire population. It's costing Israel millions of dollars to enforce their will on these people, and defend that rabid settler movement which ordinary Israeli's living inside Israel proper are growing to hate. They aslo say it is killing Israeli society spiritually and morally. These are ex-soldiers with previous tours of duty inside the territories and they know exactly what is going on inside them and they are gaining growing support from an unlikely source from ex-intelligence agents, ex generals, colonials and even ex Mossad leaders. They have publicly come out and stated that this occupation is not viable and could lead to the destruction of Israel itself. Some are even predicting a form of civil war within Israeli society itself as the frustration and anger mounts over the rising cost of keeping these settlers ensconded apon Palestinian. They detest Ariel Sharon's open cheque book policy,while ordinary Israeli's inside Israel proper make do with less and have their services,health,educationand pensions cut to pay for it all. In other words the occupation is untenable and Sharon should be made to stop building and start talking.....
BTW- They LAUGHED when asked if Israel was in mortal danger of being destroyed by the Palestinian people. They reckon it will be their own right wing zealots who will destroy Israel before the Palestinian people do....
