Egypt is importing more corn this year and most of it is coming from the United States. “Total corn exports to Egypt from October 2006-September 2007 reached 4.5 million metric tons (178 million bushels) compared with 4 million tons in October 2005-September 2006, an increase of 13 percent,” said Dr. Hussein Soliman , USGC director in Egypt.
