Italian firm ENI is to spend around $12bn in natural gas projects in Egypt during the next five years, according to a statement released by the Egyptian Ministry of Oil. ENI is already the biggest oil and gas producer in Egypt and it is also set to tap an extra 180m barrels of oil in its Balaim field in the Gulf of Suez.
