ISRAELI JETS BUZZ ASSSAD'S PALACE
Israel's Air Force signaled Syrian President Assad loud and clear last week: "Keep your Hizbullah terrorists away." F-16 battle planes flew low for several minutes over Assad's palace in northern Syria, after easily getting through the country's radar defenses.
Israel has attacked Syrian radar stations in Lebanon once since the IDF's withdrawal from the country three years ago, but this time - after a teenaged boy was killed in a Hizbullah rocket attack in Shlomi last week - Israel settled for the symbolic overflight. Military sources said that the message was well received, together with other, more diplomatic Israeli warnings to Syria, and that Hizbullah has in fact quieted down over the past few days.
