Lebanese Bishop: Israel absolute oppressor, disaster for region
Beirut, June 29, IRNA -- A Roman Catholic Lebanese bishop said in
Qaziyyeh city in southern Lebanon on Friday that Israel is
an absolute oppressor by nature and its mere existence is disastrous
for the whole Middle East region.
Bishop Gregory Haddad asked all concerned factions and governments
to mobilize all their capabilities and forces aimed at uprooting the
cancerous gland of Israel from the holy land of Palestine.
Bishop Haddad who is a member of the Supreme Catholic Bishops
Council made the remarks during a lecture for the citizens of
Qaziyyeh, asking the Arab nations not to yield to the US-Israeli
pressure aimed at suppressing all types of anti-Zionist campaign.
The brave, outspoken top Christian authority emphasized: 'Under
no circumstances, no part of Palestine should be gifted to the
occupiers of the holy Qods, as the Palestinian self rule has, by
accepting to have a country in a small and yet scattered part of
He said that the Palestinians, including Muslims, Christians and
Jews, should live freely side by side of each other, under a
democratic, humanitarian political system, other than Israel.
Haddad added: 'although the materialization of such an idea might
seem like a tough job, it is not impossible, yet.'
The Roman Catholic Lebanese bishop said that the only way to
uproot Israel is achieving solidarity and unity among all Arab
nations, and taking full advantage of the weapon of economy.
Expressing surprise over giving concession by some to the Zionist
regime, Bishop Haddad said: 'taking advantage of the weapon of
economy against Israel needs precise planing by politicians and
economists, so that ways for ridding the Palestinians' economy from
the hegemony of Israel would be sought through Arab nations' support.'
The Lebanese bishop said: 'even if the Arab leaders keep insisting
on disunity, then the Arab nations and global communities agreed with
the idea that Israel must be uprooted can unite and seek for a joint
strategy aimed at getting rid of this absolute source of evil deeds
The 78 year old brave Lebanese priest was beaten up by an Orthodox
hristian due to expressing his beliefs a fortnight ago.
He had referred to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) as the holy Messenger
of Allah during a sermon at his church which enraged an orthodox
attendant who attacked him physically and harshly.
In response to criticism in that regard later on, he argued:
Messiah (Christ) had warned of the emergence of liar prophets after
himself, but has never said that all prophets after him are liars.'
Jesus Christ had promised his followers that God's last prophet
will come to save the mankind of all vices.
