Ananova - 21 March:
War forces Madonna to re-edit pop video
Madonna has been forced to re-edit the video for her new single American Life in the light of the war against Iraq.
The video is said to depict the catastrophic repercussions and horror of war, which could now be seen by fans as inappropriate.
It has been rumoured that the star might completely remake the video or withdraw it.
But the singer's US spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg says it is merely being "fine tuned" in the light of current events.
She told the told the New York Post: "Madonna is being sensitive to what's going on in the world right now.
"There will be some minor alterations. What might have looked right two weeks ago might not look that way now. But she's not re-doing the whole video, and it will still be out the first week of April."
American Life is due out in the UK on April 14. Madonna's album of the same name is released a week later.
