| In 2003 Harold Pinter let it be known he considers Prime Minister Blair a "deluded idiot" and thinks that Blair and Bush should be tried as war criminals. He declared that "The United States is a monster out of control.... The country is run by a bunch of criminal lunatics, with Blair as their hired Christian thug", and he called the war against Iraq "a bandit act." In 2005 Pinter was awarded the Nobel Prize for Liberature. In 2008 Pinter and other British Jews publicly declared they would not celebate Israel's 60th Birthday. |
