Kashmir - More Killed and Tortured than in Palestine

MORE KILLED, TORTURED AND RAPED IN KASHMIR BY INDIA THAN IN PALESTINE BY ISRAEL

Just like in the once Holy Land, the politically cancerous situation in Kashmir has been left unresolved by the international community and has now become dangerously life-threatening. The United Nations has terribly failed both in the subcontinent in regard to Kashmir as well as in historic Palestine; both conflicts it originally helped create and through a series of cowardly inactions and misguided resolutions has since helped perpetuate. And now both conflicts threaten to escalate far out of control possibly engulfing the regions, even the world, in escalating warfare.

Indian Army Murdered 5,359 People of Kashmir During 2001

Official Rapists of India Raped 519 Kashmiri Women

(Kashmir Media Services, KMS, Occupied Kashmir): In Indian-occupied Kashmir, the Indian Army killed 4,677 people of Kashmir from January 1 to December 31 during the year 2001. Indian armed forces also committed extra-judicial murders of 682 Kashmiris in fake encounters and custodial killings during 2001.

According to the statistics compiled by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service (KMS), 519 women were raped or molested by official Indian rapists, 2,395 children were orphaned and 871 women were widowed during 2001.

Indian police and soldiers illegally arrested 6,058 civilians and tortured/injured 8,002 Kashmiris during the year 2001. At present, there are 5,605 Kashmiri citizens, including prominent leaders, freedom movement activists and human rights defenders, under unlawful detention in various jails across occupied Kashmir and India. They were arrested on false charges and are being held as hostages in Indian prisons for indefinite periods without any trials.

During their terrorism of death and destruction, the Indian troops destroyed or damaged 1,988 structures of various kinds including residential houses, schools and mosques in 2001.

The statistical data compiled by KMS Research Section also reveals that 374 Kashmiris were slaughtered by the Indian Army in Occupied Kashmir during the month of December 2001.

The tragic figure includes 265 dead men, 13 dead women, one dead child and 95 dead citizens, mostly youth, murdered in Indian police/army custody.
